First update of the year!

Hello Ladies!

This is the first Vox update of the year! I want to start by introducing myself and our new vice president. I am Erin Cummin and am the president for 2006. Sarah Sansom is vice president and is also currently acting as treasurer. I have a number of things I want to tell you about in this update.

The student involvement fair is on Monday, September 18^th. It is always an exciting and busy event and we are looking for anyone who would like to help us out at our table. The event goes from noon to 4PM and you can work shifts of any length. We need help with set-up and tear-down also if you are available for that.

Our tentative meeting time will be every other Tuesday at 6PM. The room and date of the first meeting are still being worked out and I will have more information for you as soon as possible.

Also, if you have not heard, Emergency Contraception is now available over the counter for women over the age of 18. While this is a milestone victory, there are still problems that younger women will face because of the age restriction. You can read more about this from Planned Parenthood at this link:

We will also be electing officers autumn quarter. Positions available are Treasurer, Secretary, and Public Relations. If you are interested in one of these positions, please contact Sarah or I. Elections will be discussed more at a future meeting.
